Nice win for Pinot. First podium in the rainbow jersey for Valverde. Valverde said after the race that he was just there to have fun and put on a show. He wasn't sure what his form would be due to all the requirements of having won the Worlds and all the celebrating he didn't get in much training. He looks like he's still on good form for Lombardia.

I would guess it depends on the form Matthews is in as to where he can finish. If they hit the final climb together it should be Valverde's race to lose.
