I agree with that. These races in South America can be a nice start to the season and could form a solid block for the Colombian Riders who have Nationals in February usually as well.

Bring back San Luis

Would be could if they could tack on one more decent race in South America around these two - would be worthwhile for more European riders to make the trip over for a sustained period of early season-racing in decent climate.

Yes, it seems quite a few of the lads born in 1997 have moved up to WT this year. And just on Sosa and Rivera, they are next out at Oro y Paz which will be a nice test for them.

Hard to know what the best way to blood these precocious climbers through. I thought Dani Martinez was too young when he was sent to the Giro in 2016 and hardly did anything then or in this year's edition. On the other, perhaps this exposure to the top end of the spectrum is helpful in the long run, given it's dosed sparingly.

I'll run the numbers when I get enough free time (about 2025ish), but it seems there's been a trend of the most talented climbers in the junior/U23-ranks being signed to PCT/WT-level at a younger age than before.

I'm not sure Rivera will go, if he does it could be that he is pulled after a certain amount of days. Sosa i would expect to go and Torres could be the mentor indeed.

The only thing I'd say about the current system of Savio signing teenage South-American climbers and yet again looks like he's hit some big talent is that Rodolfo Torres has been demoted to mentor-role. Big question here is how Sosa/Rivera will hold their own against the best if they get selected for this year's Giro.
