Il Piccolo Partykjepps release two riders who have been loyal, yet not integral components of the team for a few years now:
Matteo Montaguti
Floris Gerts

Former had a bad season where he didn't even perform in the early season one-day races and very unsure of his stature in AG2R given signing of Gallopin and departure of Pozzovivo. Gerts seems to be struggling to get a new team after non-renewal at BMC which should mean he won't have a leading role at a subsequent team on pro conti or conti level either.

Castroviejo and Chava look like they'll get one year extensions, one confirmed renewal:
Rui Costa - 48$ (2019]

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 3.Nov 17:29, 2017
Yeah, Nate is spot on. I was undecided when pre- and maindraft was scheduled to fall within same week, Kristian.

Nathan [CT Glory] Friday 3.Nov 16:47, 2017
Yes we will, hence the gap between pre and main draft.

Kristian-K [Green Bullet Cycling] Friday 3.Nov 16:19, 2017
will the new guys been able to trade between the pre-draft and the main-draft? I dont think we got a clear answer from the boss when we had the question up earlier.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 3.Nov 12:05, 2017
I know he deserve wage of $381

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 3.Nov 11:57, 2017
#FreeKulset

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Friday 3.Nov 11:52, 2017
Kulset can easily be stolen now that he's no longer U23 unless you give him a raise

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 3.Nov 11:44, 2017
Great to see Zanotti doing good job for me in what probably is his penultimate race for me. Hope second place is secure now, finally managed to do well in SF after really poor results the first two years

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 3.Nov 09:13, 2017
Most useful thing Hainan has done for me this year is to make me check and realize Boris Shpilevsky has retired

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Friday 3.Nov 08:55, 2017
finally they found a speed bump in china that mareczko couldnt get over. tired of seeing him win by now. vitaliy buts still hanging on for a top 5 i assume

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 3.Nov 08:41, 2017
Mosca finally generating some points for Francisco :)

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Thursday 12.Oct 17:52, 2017
True, it just all went wrong very quickly indeed

boris03 [Cycling lions] Thursday 12.Oct 08:44, 2017
Yeah... I was totally wrong on this one... But this was said in January when Konig was expected to be Bora's leader on Giro with 70 km TT... He had good chances for top 5 but his whole season went wrong from the start

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Wednesday 11.Oct 19:12, 2017
Draftpick 24 (EPO takes Konig for 16$) Very clever move... Later drafts shown how Assasin's comment that he's thrifty young man has no sence...

Just wanna remind Boris of that comment :D

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Thursday 21.Sep 11:48, 2017
You can have a lot of fun for the cost of 138 (one year-extension) and 150 (two year-extension) ;)

boris03 [Cycling lions] Wednesday 20.Sep 17:48, 2017
The biggest seasom fantasy question...
Will Tom Dumoulin get a new contract? :)

goon1221 [BMC] Saturday 9.Sep 18:20, 2017
Nibali to the rescue .... the giro specialist still going strong:))

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Saturday 9.Sep 17:43, 2017
Pellizotti looking mighty strong on the Angliru and may also deserve a new contract.
But he is always used as a domestique, and next year he will be 40 years old..

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Saturday 9.Sep 17:02, 2017
http://firstcycling.com/race.php?r=576&y=2017&k=etapper

Clean sweep for my man. Now will he go dominate the Chinese autmn races as well?

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Saturday 9.Sep 12:53, 2017
Then stealing it is. PartyFinn, that would be seflHarm :D

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Saturday 9.Sep 01:56, 2017
Dillier can't be traded as he's on a 2017 contract

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Friday 8.Sep 23:27, 2017
Hansen, Intxausti and Puma on their way out here. I will listen to offers for others apart from Polanc :D

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Friday 8.Sep 20:47, 2017
John : With Harm it's possible.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 8.Sep 20:47, 2017
I can confirm that the Partykjepp wants Valgren, but no deal done yet. On my team nothing is secured, but Haimar can get in the honorary club together with Fränk for next year, but still negotiating with his agent about the terms.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 8.Sep 20:28, 2017
I've got a war chest upcoming, Tomasz. Non-renewal with Rui Costa to afford Dillier, Mas and Bernal?

Tomas [Second Coming] Friday 8.Sep 20:09, 2017
Enric Mas Nicolau expecting the pay rise of his lifetime. Or so he's told me, while at the same time admitting that PartyKjeppen texts him non-stop..

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 8.Sep 19:59, 2017
I think Dillier was unpicked in inital draft (few picks each) and then was picked by me in second window. So naturalized Partykjepp, came through at Chambery and going to AG2R means I'm due a discount, PartyFinn.

I'll trade you Marcato for him.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 8.Sep 19:49, 2017
Lesson with Machado has to be never to go for Partykjeppen's sloppy seconds.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Friday 8.Sep 19:25, 2017
Team EPO has come to an oral agreement regarding a contract extension with Tony Gallopin. A wage of $41 will make him the team's highest paid rider next season. This is a lot of money, but a necessity given the shite performance of many of his teammates.

These riders can expect to get the boot: Samu Sanchez, Gasparotto, König, Capiot, Machado, Bille, Pellizotti, De Tier, Sbaragli and Vanspeybrouck.

This would mean 20 riders under contract before the draft.

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Friday 8.Sep 18:06, 2017
At K92 HQ, just waiting for his performence tomorrow.
If he smash them all, as expected here, K92 HQ will contact Finland to make a deal. :)

P.S. Even facing the legitimate interest of JohnGadretPartykyepp Team. :)

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Friday 8.Sep 16:18, 2017
I'm waiting :)

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Friday 8.Sep 15:29, 2017
Really LosBrolin? :|

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeldwfOwuL8

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 8.Sep 15:07, 2017
Waiting for news of Lakebants' renewal :D

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Friday 8.Sep 15:04, 2017
Impossible :O

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 8.Sep 14:03, 2017
Was a very good season for me until Porte crashed out of the Tour, not that unexpected of course, and it would be a huge success for the team if I can stay top 5. I can confirm that I am going to have budget issues before next season, doesn't look too good unless I can do some transfers with my riders who doesn't deserves their high wages.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Friday 8.Sep 13:25, 2017
I want Dillier now that he's coming back home, LosBrolin.

#PhinneyOut

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Friday 8.Sep 13:01, 2017
K92-SF Team already in strong negotiations with several riders of his team.
It appears, there will be significant moves.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Friday 8.Sep 12:33, 2017
Viviani was one of the riders I said right away was veeeery underpriced, but I didn't have the budget to steal him myself. Now will Boris give Dumoulin120 a new contract?...

Two, or maybe three guys wanting to join. If someone wants to leave, it may be among the most inactive who don't read the forum anyway, so probably better to message them personally and ask?

Personally I can't wait to rid my team of a bunch of underperformers.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Thursday 7.Sep 23:49, 2017
Wouldn't have imagined Viviani being the deciding factor, congrats in advance to b0ris!

I know of some dudes very eager to join for 2018. Please message me if so, basic requirements is two weekends of drafting - one early January and second late May/early June.

I reckon some managers might be done now too, so better having all interested and leaving parties dropping me a line so we can set up for next year with pre-draft for new managers and all as early as possible.

boris03 [Cycling lions] Sunday 20.Aug 17:07, 2017
Hahaha yeah sure thing :)

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Sunday 20.Aug 11:20, 2017
Are you going to steal Contreras, Boris?

boris03 [Cycling lions] Saturday 19.Aug 23:21, 2017
It is really interesting when you think "I want to have this rider in my season fantasy team"... Then you take a look and see that he is Trym's rider :)

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Thursday 17.Aug 23:06, 2017
Taylor Phinney's high water mark at his time at Partykjeppene: talking about being naked to the media

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Thursday 17.Aug 23:04, 2017
I can only blame Nairo :(

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 17.Aug 23:04, 2017
2017, a season to forget for this fantasy team.

- Scarponi got killed during training
- König has been out with injury all season
- Capiot has been injured all the time
- Nordhaug has been suffering from a virus similar to that of mononucleosis
- Sanchez crashed hard early in the season and got caught doping at the end of it

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Tuesday 20.Jun 10:36, 2017
No, the season fantasy points are the same as the FC rank points.

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Tuesday 20.Jun 00:57, 2017
Having a go at this next season. Is the pts scoring system for this the same as, and the same races as the FC Manager game. Only without the 80%, 125%, and 150%?

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Monday 5.Jun 00:38, 2017
Congrats, K-man! Van der Poel is a punt in the same way Van Aert is, obvious major potential but question whether they'll ever go the Stybar-route (or better it).

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Sunday 4.Jun 21:53, 2017
But he race in both MTB and CX also, so limited how many road races he can race.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Sunday 4.Jun 21:14, 2017
van der poel has a bright future. very versatile rider

Kristian-K [Green Bullet Cycling] Sunday 4.Jun 20:00, 2017
anyone who have five season fantasy victories on the same day before?

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Saturday 3.Jun 14:15, 2017
fixed on rider profiles. but not on startlists, results and fantasy pages

Tomas [Second Coming] Saturday 3.Jun 14:03, 2017
Using part1 I guess. Fixed in 2 secs.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Saturday 3.Jun 00:01, 2017
Riders not showing correct fantasy team-affiliation on their pages or when the season fantasy-button is pressed at race pagess

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 31.May 15:55, 2017
in that case it should only count the riders you have on your team right now.

here the points columns have wrong names:
http://firstcycling.com/fcfseasonteams.php?ID=1990

in the case of Albasini it should be like this:
Paid: -45
Points: 466
Net points: 421

Tomas [Second Coming] Wednesday 31.May 15:38, 2017
Just quick-coded on year:

year(fdato)>1994

and

year(fdato)<1982

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 31.May 15:08, 2017
actually, how is it coded? does it use the current age and not the age at the time? a rider who was 34 in 2015 is 36 now

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 31.May 14:49, 2017
For "No. 35year+ riders" it must be for all seasons combined. I'm at 16, but only got 5 right now.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 31.May 14:40, 2017
Is this for the whole season or just part 2?

Tomas [Second Coming] Wednesday 31.May 14:33, 2017
There you go :)

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 31.May 12:37, 2017
http://firstcycling.com/fcfhof.php
This is collecting values from 2016 or something, so Tomas should fix that.

I'm "proud" to have the highest average age. But that will probably change next year as it seems unlikely that I'll renew with Pellizotti, Sanchez and Gasparotto (+ Scarponi).
Gallopin has performed well, but $41 could get too expensive. Vanspeybrouck, Machado, Bille, De Tier and a few others also need to step up their game to earn a new contract.

Ole A.Fikerud [The Rockets] Saturday 27.May 13:06, 2017
I hear you Epo. Had Thomas for the Giro and that went well. Only Meintjes for the tour and although I said he was available for a trade it now looks like he has to stay. Unless Froome gets stomack problems on stage one, Meintjes is the man.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Saturday 27.May 11:15, 2017
I had no less than 3 GC contenders for the Giro. König hasn't even raced yet because of his knee injury, Scarponi was killed, and now Kruijswijk is DNS before the last mountain stage after having underperformed. For the Tour I have nothing. At least now we know who won't win the season fantasy this year.

Ole A.Fikerud [The Rockets] Saturday 13.May 01:26, 2017
It's pretty entertaining to see why we picked the riders we did now a few months later. It's safe to say that not everything went as planned.

I believed in Fernandez but so far it looks like the worst pick I did in the draft. The cheap ones have done well and the re-signing of Haas payed off a lot better than I would ever imagine.

Looks like a couple of riders will be available for trades but that decision will be made on sunday. Most likely seriously hungover.

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Wednesday 19.Apr 22:50, 2017
Neilson Powless won GP Palio del Recioto, yesterday! :)

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Saturday 25.Feb 12:32, 2017
Signed Thwaites as I reckoned he'd get to ride for himself in some of the semi-classics, but now it transpires that Dimension Data aren't riding several of them...

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Tuesday 21.Feb 13:34, 2017
Expecting a good start for Lawless and Powless in Alentejo! More then less! ;)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Monday 20.Feb 15:16, 2017
Reason for Zoidl is simple, the FC ranking hasn't been updated after Laguna results. You will get it when the ranking is updated, so don't worry about that.

boris03 [Cycling lions] Monday 20.Feb 15:14, 2017
Nice start for Cycling Lions there... After first mountain stage in Down Under when Gorka Izagirre was excellent I had feeling:“I had again make trade when I give better rider than I got” (I talking about Hermans-Izagirre trade)
But then Gorka did nothing and Hermans was the best rider in February... He is signing of the season so far...
On other side I’m happy to see a lot of my riders in plus already... Mollema started well in San Juan and he will be the leader in Abu Dhabi too... Sounds great... Roson Drucker De La Cruz Frank Kump and Samuel Dumoulin delivered more than expected in this part of the season...
I expected a bit more from Woods in Down Under Majka in his first races and Kruopis in Andalucia/Dehaes in Oman...
On the other side it looks like minor problem but I want to ask where are 2 points for Zoidl for yesterday’s GP Laguna
He finnished 18th...

// Points scale
No.1 = 100 pts
No.2 = 80 pts
No.3 = 60 pts
No.4 = 50 pts
No.5 = 45 pts
No.6 = 40 pts
No.7 = 36 pts
No.8 = 32 pts
No.9 = 29 pts
No.10 = 26 pts
No.11 = 24 pts
No.12 = 22 pts
No.13 = 20 pts
No.14 = 18 pts
No.15 = 16 pts
No.16 = 15 pts ..... No.30 = 1 pts.

The points are then multiplayed with the forumla under;

// GC
gt1 = 5.5
gt2 = 5
monu = 2.7
1wt = 1.75
2wt = 2.2
1hc = 1.4
2hc = 1.6
11 = 0.7
21 = 1.1
12 = 0.15
22 = 0.25

// Stages
stage_gt1 = 0.85
stage_gt2 = 0.7
stage_wt = 0.36
stage_hc = 0.25
stage_1 = 0.175
stage_2 = 0.05

// Jerseys
jersey_gt1 = 0.85
jersey_gt2 = 0.7
jersey_wt = 0.36
jersey_hc = 0.25
jersey_1 = 0.175
jersey_2 = 0.05

So I think he scored 0.15x13=1.95≈2... Or not?

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Monday 20.Feb 09:38, 2017
Ok, now we've reached peak-Partykjepp for the year, just don't tell my wife :''''(. Romain Hardy rode really well in the Vuelta last year, but I did not foresee him being the signing of the season (thus far) when using my last pick on him.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Monday 13.Feb 13:40, 2017
More or less pleased with the start of the year, Costa, Trentin, Calmejeane and Latour all showing form early plus Quintana already racing agressively for wins.

Disappointed by Boudat not finishing with the bunch in Almeria and early signs of Lammertink being demoted to a domestique in Katusha.

Almost catched up with the leaders, but I don't think I'll be able to be at the top by the end of the weekend unless Costa and Calmejeane win their respective races. And then it's a downward curve for at least month as the Belgian semi- and classics take center stage.

Remi [LSK Cycling] Friday 27.Jan 13:34, 2017
Today I hope for my first victory of the year, in Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana. Go Valverde!!!

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 26.Jan 15:21, 2017
Tomas: Why don't the "season fantasy" buttons on the results pages work? I don't get it, it worked the first year. Can't you just change it from 2015 to 2017 in the code?

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 26.Jan 14:03, 2017
Tomas should really add such a "top 5 riders" column to the team pages. (Not the fantasy team pages.)

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 26.Jan 14:00, 2017
The 5 best riders on each team based on FC pts:

- Gazprom: Firsanov 510, Maikin 493, Tsatevich 386, Porsev 385, Lagutin 189. Average of 393 pts.
- CCC: Paterski 275, Grossschartner 219, Mihaylov 193, Hirt 185, Tratnik 184. Average of 211 pts.
- Wilier: Mareczko 577, Pozzato 460, Belletti 438, Busato 417, Fedi 341. Average of 447 pts.
- Bardiani: Ruffoni 413, Wackermann 341, Ciccone 271, Pirazzi 261, Simion 255. Average of 308 pts.

- Nippo: Grosu 308, Marini 284, Cunego 283, Canola 231, Stacchioti 193. Average of 260 pts.
- Androni: Gavazzi 893, Palini 459, Torres 440, Benfatto 410, Bernal 234. Average of 487 pts.

1. Androni 487
2. Wilier 447
3. Gazprom 393
4. Bardiani 308
5. Nippo 260
6. CCC 211

So the decision is clearly wrong, Q. E. D.

So yeah, good going RCS or whoever is in charge. And just as fucked up is it that they gave a Milano - San Remo wild card to the worthless Novo Nordisk at the cost of Coquard's team.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 26.Jan 13:29, 2017
Cofidis, Direct Energie, Fortuneo and Wanty got the Tour de France wild cards. Very uncontroversial. But the Giro wild cards still make no sense... How on earth could they leave out Androni? They are the best Italian pro conti team besides Wilier, considerably better than Bardiani now that Colbrelli is off to Bahrain. And CCC, well... I don't get it, do they hate Savio or something? It certainly can't be based on sporting criteria.

Anyway, the European season starts today. Greipel for the win.

neko [nibalies] Friday 20.Jan 09:32, 2017
In stage 4 new win and new podium for me. Good work Ewan and Van Poppel!

neko [nibalies] Thursday 19.Jan 13:02, 2017
New win for me :) Ewan wins stage 3 and Van Poppel is on fourth place. :)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 18.Jan 18:08, 2017
Money talks. Read rumors yesterday that Poland wants Giro start in 2018, so very likely therefore CCC is chosen. I would have had both Androni and Nippo instead, but my chose would have been Androni.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 18.Jan 18:01, 2017
It also killed Androni

goon1221 [BMC] Wednesday 18.Jan 17:51, 2017
Poland is a big country ,,,,, good for Giro and cycling in general to spread it around :)))

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 18.Jan 15:57, 2017
Strange decision to give it to CCC. Androni is a better team, and Italian.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 18.Jan 15:00, 2017
And the Giro wild cards went to Gazprom, CCC, Bardiani and Wilier

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Wednesday 18.Jan 12:23, 2017

Firss two places in TDU in stage 1: Ewan and Van Poppel! :)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Monday 16.Jan 15:07, 2017
Down Under: Porte will win, while Valgren, Vakoc, Brambilla and Pozzovivo all can do well in the overall, while Goncalves can do some good stages, but no idea if these five riders will have freedom or not.
San Juan: The good almighty Gavazzi can come top 10 on stages, but not better than that, so few points there.
Marseillaise: Two good sprinters here with Dupont and Claeys, but no idea how the race unfolds.
Besseges: Expect stage wins from Demare.

Maybe I have riders in Cadel RR and Trofeo Mallorca also, but don't know that yet.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Monday 16.Jan 15:02, 2017
TDU: Machado and Slagter are top 10 candidates. Roux top 20. Caruso will do a good job as bottle carrier.
San Juan: Gasparotto and Pardilla will roll around talking to eachother while getting tanned.
Marseillaise: I have no idea what's gonna happen here, but I have a few riders who could do something.
Besseges: Gallopin for the win. The others will support him.
Giro: Kruijswijk trying to win again and König to go top 10 as usual. Scarponi riding in support.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Monday 16.Jan 14:31, 2017
Bardiani is safe, and Gazprom seems to be getting a wild card as well. Then I'd give the remaining two to Wilier and Androni. Vini Fantini looks the weakest by far, with a bunch of has-beens and Japs. But maybe that will change next season when Mauro Santambrogio can make another comeback after his second drug ban.

Remi [LSK Cycling] Monday 16.Jan 14:25, 2017
LSK Cycling in the start of the sesion..
TdU: Ulissi, Bonifazio, Battaglin, Hamilton, Barbero and Elissonde. Looks good! Stagevictories and GC! Must score some points in this race :)
San Juan: Ganna, Wackermann, Malicelli and Marini. Maybe some points here. Wackermann can do something in the sprints, but its a lot of good riders in this race. Dont expect much here.
Besseges: Finetto, and thats IT! Solid rider, but can he win something for me? I hope so, but I dont expect much.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Monday 16.Jan 13:57, 2017
TT one stage later this year => net gain!

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Monday 16.Jan 13:54, 2017
The big question is if Tsatevitch will be kicked out this year also.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Monday 16.Jan 13:51, 2017
Looks like I'm eating my shorts, apparently Gazprom are looking nailed on for a Giro wildcard. Hopefully Tsatevich can make up for losing old cogder Firsanov.

boris03 [Cycling lions] Thursday 12.Jan 18:08, 2017
Your strategy makes sence... I will try to do something like it next transfer windows...

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 12.Jan 17:09, 2017
Wage strategy:
I expect Marc Sarreau to score about 225 points again this season. Most of you give such riders $1 by default, but to me he is worth $3. If he had been stolen I would've finished with 28 riders instead of 29, and I definitely wouldn't be able to get those 225 points back with $2 extra in my budget. The key is to set the wages so that there are always better steals on other teams, and people looking to double up $3 riders did indeed find better value elsewhere and I got to keep him.

And why on earth do you guys give $1 riders 2018 contracts?... If they perform somewhat well this year you'll have to give them a wage increase, but the problem is that you'll only have 4 of those one year from now.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 12.Jan 16:47, 2017
Why didn't you increase their wages before the draft then? You could've increased the wages of up to 4 riders on 2017 contracts, and then you could've still had Richeze etc.

boris03 [Cycling lions] Thursday 12.Jan 15:52, 2017
Yes， I were lucky to keep Dehaes... I expected someoone to steal Mollema and Bennatti tooo... Viviani ofc too...
And Trym was very lucky to keep Madrazo... If he hadn’t budget potential to steal Viviani I would steal Madrazo for sure...

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Thursday 12.Jan 13:33, 2017
My team has the highest average age of all, and that's because I go for proven quality instead of young guys with potential. The only criteria I have is that they should score a score a lot of points the next 5-10 months, not in 2018, I'll worry about that next year. I don't love or hate any riders, I'm neutral and don't root for anyone except those on my manager teams or those I've put money on when watching bike races. So the only criteria is POINTS which is what the game is about for me, scoring the most points and winning.

I see that I drafted König 29 years old, Navarro 33, Albasini 36, Machado 31, Firsanov 34 and Nordhaug 32. I even renewed with Pellizotti 38 and Scarponi 37 although they are now overpaid compared to the rest of the squad. The only young guy I drafted is Amaury Capiot at 23. But that's because he's good already, and I didn't see much more value elsewhere given my budget. I could've doubled Monfort to $6, but that's a "boring" pick. You know what you'll get, but also what you won't get. And I wasn't confident that Tsatevich and Porsev would get good race programs in the spring at Gazprom. Dehaes probably can't repeat his 2016 season though boris was lucky to keep him at $6.

The only thing that goes against him as oppose to all my other drafts is that he can probably be expected to score most of his points in the second part of the season. But I should think long term about such talent anyway. I need a new Dan McLay. I picked him up at $4 last year and now he's earning $36 in another team. And Topsport Vlaanderen is a great team for young talents to develop. Theuns, Naesen, Campenaerts, Van Asbroeck, Vanspeybrouck...

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Thursday 12.Jan 11:12, 2017
Very interesting to see other participants explain their very valid reasoning.

First of all I want to highlight something which Francisco and some other managers mention: selection criteria which are not exclusively points-maximizing. Il Piccolo Partykjepps is to consist of riders I like - no compromises. It's a combination of rider types, don't like wheelsuckers like Gerrans/Valverde/Mollema in previous Tour etc., but also personalities - not very fond of Cav, G.Thomas, van Garderen, Kittel f.ex. There are also teams I'll avoid in general, like Quick-Step and Astana (with a few exceptions).

Apart from the GT-contenders I like, the archetypal rider type I like are those who ride aggressively and win with panache. Bakelants, Wellens, De Gendt, Latour, Valgren when he's allowed. When it comes to sprinters I don't like that many, but Greipel's work ethic for team mates and occational gung-ho climbing bonanzas is perfectly Partykjeppian.

I, like several others here, also like young talent. Vervaeke, Gougeard, Mamykin, Vliegen, Latour, Calmejeane, Albanese, A.Turgis, Politt are among those fitting both riding style and also being young. I regret not putting my money where my mouth is this window and signing Nans Peters.

I got a headstart by getting the first pick in the inital draft (Quintana) and have done some crude trades #ChavesGate, but I'd say I've achieved better results than expected whilst to a large extent sticking to the values above. Only guy on my team I don't like now is Nico Roche, but I keep him due to #GadretGate. I've been an early adapter of guys like Bauhaus, Mareczko, Planckaert, Stuyven, Vliegen, Gougeard among others.

So Boris, all of the above were some of the reasons for picking Visconti and Trentin. Visconti will most likely slave for Nibali in the Giro, but should get the chance to lead in one-day races where Valverde has been top dog in Movistar plus smaller stage races. Trentin is a Partykjepp with his riding style - it was either him or Bonifazio.

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Thursday 12.Jan 10:41, 2017
Well, i had two small lists before the draft. One with young promising riders and other with "secure" names.

I chosed to pick all from the young list. I had 7 names i picked 5 of them, Simion was catched by Remi (who else?..) and one is still a free agent.

As someone said before this game is not just about winning.
I love to make some kind of "blind picks". It's like a challenge beting in these young riders who show potential but still missing a lot of hard working in the sadle... :)

My friend boris, Van Aert increasing wage was necessary. I believe increasing from 9 to 25 was too much, even with Assassin saying he would be his next move, but i was (and i still am) shocked with Benoot's lost... :)
I know he will go on in both competitions (cx and road) but i feared losing him so damn quickly... :)

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Thursday 12.Jan 08:43, 2017
My draft picks :

Moscon - He's a fucking beast. Possibility to win lot of races

Ackermann - Maybe few stage wins at the smaller races when Bennett and Sagan are not riding

Kuznetsov - Gent - Wevelgem podium incoming

Dillier - Think he'll have a good season. Great rider.

Räim - Iconic Tro Bro Leon will have a new winner this season (don't think CA will take part tho)

Reyes - If you can podium the uphill ITT stage in a field full of known dopers - you're in good hands

Schachmann - He'll have the Tony Martin -syndrome and wont be able tho chose whether he'll like to TT or go for a GC. Strong lad anyway

Wallays - One solo victory coming up. I'm afraid that's it tho.

Overall I would say that my team is pretty fucking horrible. GL to everyone!

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 23:36, 2017
I did all the mistakes which were possible to do in the original draft and the first window, but after the window in August 2015, I've had a plan on almost everything, and it turns out that it was a good plan. And Valgren is the only rider I have had on my team since day 1, so he is the most important rider on my team.

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Wednesday 11.Jan 22:43, 2017
Valgren is ready to dominate AGR for years to come :D

Ole A.Fikerud [The Rockets] Wednesday 11.Jan 22:21, 2017
And Andy has a really strong Squad now! I remember the first time we did this. I don't remember exactly how the team looked like, but it was nothing like it is now :)

Ole A.Fikerud [The Rockets] Wednesday 11.Jan 22:15, 2017
Betancur sure has the potential, and is Worth the risk. But this is Valls Ferri's season to shine, but Betancur can be on the podium :)

Sagan is different because he wins races anytime a year. Froome and the GT- guys got one or two goals a season. Froome abandoned the TdF once before and there were drama in the last edition as well. It's a big risk.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 11.Jan 22:12, 2017
It's not what I think, it's what Vino himself said.

"We believe that Breschel as a rider with solid experience will be of great help to Valgren at the spring classics in the Ardennes, which he is well aware of. Being the fourth Danish rider in the team, the rider is very motivated to compete for our team and help his countryman to vie for results in big races," Alexander Vinokourov, General Team Manager, said.
http://www.cyclingquotes.com/news/astana_sign_breschel_bilbao_chernetskiy_and_bizhigitov/

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 22:01, 2017
Ole: Isn't it Betancur's time to shine? If he had been in Europe the whole winter, he would have been unbeatable, and as a former PN winner he has the potential to be the Movistar leader in such races, but he has never fulfilled the potential, unfortunately.

I remember I once had Contador on such wages, but that was just too much on one rider. If he crashes in the most important race, then you're finished. Of course, Sagan never crashes, but the point is still there.

Ole A.Fikerud [The Rockets] Wednesday 11.Jan 21:43, 2017
Average draft for me.

Got Fernandez which I truly believe in. Especially since Izagirre left Movistar. It's his time to shine in the week long races.

I think my best pick was Valls Ferri for 3 in wages. Last season was pretty much ruined because of injuries and he had a loooong pre-season now and will ride as captain in Australia. He sure is captain material and if he stays on the road he will be a big earner.

Since I love the North American races I needed a guy like Carpenter. Add Huffmann to that and you see that I pick for Entertainment value in races outside Europe too. If I were a bit more cynical and tactical I would probably choose otherwise, but this is what the game means to me. More fun in more races.

Haas and Sepulveda are riders I let go two weeks ago, and drafted them back just to save about 30 in wages. Both can win races.

Pelucci for 1. Can't go wrong there. The question is if there were other riders I could have picked instead as the last draft.

There are talks about big wages. I don't like the risk. Sagan is special. Never injured, always in shape. But just read that Valverde got injured in training. I will never use 1/3 or 1/4 of my Budget on ONE rider.

I need to read the rest of the thread now. Very Nice thread btw.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 21:15, 2017
Voeckler could be a good rider to have in my staff, so maybe I can draft him in the next window, so I have him on my team in Dauphine and the Tour, and then retirement for him. Great to read that you think Valgren will have a free role, I also hope so, so I can get some points from him. Do you listen Partykjeppen?

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 11.Jan 19:33, 2017
Logreid revealed that he was trying to decide between Pauwels, Puccio, Hardy and Preidler for his last draft. My list was different. I was considering Nordhaug, Breschel, Voeckler and Huub Duyn. I then figured that Voeckler is really old, Breschel will mostly be a helper for Valgren and there's no Tour of Denmark in this part of the season, and Duyn also doesn't score that much in the spring. The same can be said about Kiryienka.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 19:24, 2017
I had to sign them both. I can't have my team name without at least one rider from Luxembourg. And Kulset is the new Norwegian wonderboy ;)

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 11.Jan 19:22, 2017
In the middle of the draft you had one of the strongest teams, Andy. But then you deservingly lost some riders on too low wages before signing Kirsch and Kulset, hehe.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 19:13, 2017
Just to say it, I have no goal to win this, just to have a team who can do well and with riders who I like. And it doesn't hurts to me lose riders who I expected would go, just like Planckaert and Battaglin. Much more worse with Moscon, who I thought had put too high since he's still in Sky next season and will not be allowed that much freedom in the bigger races, but Partyfinn didn't agree with me there, and I just have to respect that. But it was a big loss for me. If I should have any goal with my riders, it has to be that all of them are undervalued, i.e. they score more points than the wage indicates, but that will not happen.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 11.Jan 18:59, 2017
Henao and Gilbert underpriced. Fuglsang underpriced too, but he will score more in the second part of the season when he is Tour captain. About McLay I obviously agree as I thought $18 was a high enough wage. But people seem to overestimate sprinters (or big names) in general, with both Ewan, McLay, Groenewegen and others being doubled. Pozzovivo might the most underpriced rider in the game at the moment. Viviani deserves a higher wage as well. I think Albanese is too young to score a lot of points this season. I would've taken Valverde $120 over Sagan $176 if I had the money. Boonen $18 will be valuable, the only downside is that Tomas will have trouble reaching 30 riders total when Boonen is released.

Wages for Navarro and Albasini: I play it more safe than you and Andy, boris. It hurts a lot more for me to lose a rider than to give them $2 extra. It's hugely important to get as close as possible to 30 riders, because it's easy to sign a guy like Nordhaug on a low wage in the end that will still score 300 points for the team. Cimolai is only worth $4, but I still gave him $5 to be safe as I'd have leftover money anyway.

Jesus Herrada $16 was just a wage increase. And I'll agree that Fernandez $25 is overpriced. I had Betancur on my long list too, maybe he could've been my last draft. Ritlefant should've taken Henao $40 instead of Chaves $100, especially because I don't think Chaves will do the Giro.

Planckaert will have a different race program this year and I expect him to score a lot less this year, just like Van Asbroeck after moving to a World Tour team. I assume Van Aert will focus mostly on CX still. Bodnar scores most of his points in the second part of the season because of the Worlds ITT. Dumoulin seems ambitious about the Giro at least.

I'm very happy with my team. The only weak points are Pellizotti $5 and Scarponi $14 who only deserve $3 and $9 in my opinion, but I re-signed them because it was more important to try to reach 30 riders than to save that money for the draft.

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Wednesday 11.Jan 18:54, 2017
Yes. As regards Sagan, if he has a bad year I will cry. But it's Sagan so that won't happen :)

boris03 [Cycling lions] Wednesday 11.Jan 18:52, 2017
Assasin, same as me last year :) This game is really fhn and I had some big mistakes in my first draft... But every school costs... Never defeat only lesson :)
Agree with Andy about Vuelta... He had potential to finnish on Vuelta podium 'cause of his great TT ability only if he survived Formigal stage without 50 minutes loss...

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 18:47, 2017
König was good in the Vuelta before the whole Sky cracked on maybe the best stage of any races last year, could have been on the podium there. Was considering him on my first draft, but just had to take Pozzovivo then.

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Wednesday 11.Jan 18:41, 2017
Boris, The reason Konig was low is I wasn't quite sure how he'd go after 2 years of basically being a mountain goat (Exception being Giro 2015 when he took over Sky's GC hopes). I am obviously new and was not 100% certain about wages but I had fun doing what I did and you just never know what might happen :)

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 11.Jan 18:29, 2017
If we're gonna do a draft night next time then someone else has to be in charge of adding and removing riders from teams, because I can't focus on that and on making good drafts at the same time if there's a time limit. I think this "slow drafting" went quite well for the most part, and we finished faster than expected.

boris03 [Cycling lions] Wednesday 11.Jan 18:16, 2017
My opinion about this draft:
Slow drafting is ok for me... There were some long stops but nothing too bad... We finished everything for just 3 days without any pressure... For me it's much better than one long draft night...
My comments on interesting draft picks in my choice:
Draftpicks 1&2 I'm really suprised that Assasin managed to keep Henao and Gilert with that low wages...
Draftpick 8 (neko takes Fuglsang for 12$) Very clever move by my friend... But this shows how this game is unrealistic... For example Dan McLay has a wage of 36$ that triple Fuglsang's wage...
Draftpick 11 (Andy takes Pozzovivo for 13$) Same as Fuglsang...
Draftpick 12 (my first pick-Viviani 13$) In last round I thought I made a mistake and I was sure that Rockets or Trym would steal him but that, fortunately didn't happen... In the end I think this was my best choice on draft and I'm sure he will give me big amount of points this season...
Draftpick 23 (Logreid takes Albanese for 3$) The smartest move of whole draft... Albanese was my pick in second round and I'm very unhappy that he won't be in my team... I'm sure Albanee will do big boom this season...
Draftpick 24 (EPO takes Konig for 16$) Very clever move... Later drafts shown how Assasin's comment that he's thrifty young man has no sence... He gave 176$ for Sagan (crazy) 11$ for Mezgec (just lead-out man and domestique) and 26$ for Rosa (new Froommey's helper) but he thought potential grand-tour podium finnisher Leopold Konig is worth only 8$... I will call it a beginner's mistake same as my Dumoulin on 120$ and Modolo on 40$ last year...
Draftpick 27 (Tomas takes Boonen for 18$) Real fan move and appreciate it... But wage is unnecessarily large... I think 13 or 14$ was really enough for someoone who will only do one third of the season...
Draftpick 30 (my second pick-Mamykin) Showed enormous potential in Spannish races last season... Cyclingquotes expects a lot from him so I'm proud of this choice... Logreid stolen Boudat in that round another clever move...
Draftpick 35 (Assasin steals Rosa for 26$) Keeping Konig and taking free rider like Navarro, Haas or Bennatti would be much safer bet for you my British friend... You said you're crazy so this gamble with Rosa's accomodiaton to Sky system is maybe great move for you... :)
Draftpicks 39&43 (Rockets takes Haas for 6$ and EPO takes Navarro for 11$) Very clever moves... Only I think 8 or 9$ was enough for Navarro... Anyway in general I think EPO's choice are mainly very clever and I'm sure he is a big favourite for another win...
Draftpicks 44&45 (Bendit steals Lopez for 50$ and neko steals Ewan for 36$) Bendit's move-crazy and neko's move-brave and maybe very clever
Draftpick 49 (my third choice-David De La cruz for 7$) Very happy about this pick...
Draftpicks 53&54 (Two Assasin's steals Soler for 4$ from me and Sagan for 176$) I sad about Soler but I got Roson who is maybe even bigger potential and he will get much more channces this season to show him as a leader so Soler is no major loss for Cycling Lions... I will try to get him back in some trade in the summer... Sagan steal is crazy and certainly overpaided maybe even overpaided as my Dumoulin... But Sagan this year Dumoulin last year... Those things make the draft fun...
Draftpick 62 (EPO takes Albasini) Another clever move by EPO... Albasini was on my long list and again I think the wage could be lower for 1 or 2$ but in the end very good pick again...
Draftpick 63 (Bendt take Jesus Herrada for 16$) Very clever pick... Just one little interesting thing... You gave 25$ for Fernandez and "only" 16$ for Herrada... I think those too are on the same level... "Only" 18$ for Fernandez would be enough I think...
Draftpick 67&68 (Andy takes Betancur for 7$ and I take Bennatti for 6$) I wanted to sign Betancur in that round so very clever pick Andy... I hope Bennati wil be good replacement
Draftpcik 75&78 (Trym takes Walscheid for 5$ and Kristian takes Eiking for 2$) Both very clever picks... Two promissing riders...
Draftpick 79 (Ritlefant stels Chaves for 100$) Crazy and clever in the same time...
Draftpick 80 (Logreid steals Visconti for 24$) Logreid and I often have same opinions but I think that Visconti has mybe go out from Valverde's shadow but in Bahrain he will be much more behind Nibali's shadow as he will probably be key domestique for Nibali in the Giro
Draftpick 87 (My fifth choice-De Gendt for 5$) I was really suprised that he was still free at that moment... If he can repeat last season it will be fantastic for me...
Draftpicks 88&107 (GBC steals Richeze and Howard from me both for 6$) Both very clever steals... I'm sad beause I lost to great riders... And I hate GBC :))))
Draftpick 93 (Steinvik steals Planckaert for 40$) There were much clever option for steals... Valverde on 60$ cries...
Draftpick 95 (K92 increased Van Aert's wage to 25$) What happened with you my Portuguese friend? You said you want to save money... 9$ was enough and maybe even too much for Van Aert... Than you give him 25$... I really can't understand this move...
Draftpick 101 (Bendit takes Hansen for 5$) Clever... After hansen was really have overpaided in nibalies now he becomes really great pointpicker...
Draftpick 106 (I took Bodnar for 5$) Pretty ok pick for me... i think he will give me 150-200 points in each period and I will be happy if this become true...
Draftpick 118 (Logried steals Turgis for 6$) Very clever move...
Draftpick 125 (Zoidl for 5$ to my team) Maybe one small mistake... His wage could be 3 or 4$ without any problems... Look what Eibbeger did last season in that Austrian conti team... Zoidl will make big things this year... Races like Azerbaidjan Tour of Austria Oberösterreichrundfahrt just waiting for him to win them... Tour of Croatia can be big goal too...
Draftpick 132 (Trym takes Offredo for 1$) Very cheap ride who can do a lot...
Draftpicks 137&139 (Logreid steals Trentin for 42$ and Bendit steals Mareczko for 20$) Both overpaided... For Logreid's pick... I'm starting to think there were some agreements to destroy Remi's team...
Draftpick 140 (neko takes Dylan Teuns for 6$) Very promissing rider... Very clever pick my friend...
Draftpick 144 (My last pick and my first steal Jaime Roson for 8$) Really happy about that and really happy because this steal finnished without any consequences... Cycling Quotes has a lot of confidence in him and I hope this is big think for the future...
Draftpick 147 (Assasin takes Durasek for 1$) He was my pick for potential extra round... Smart choice...
Some steals are unrealistic and sad... McLay is worth just one 1$ less than Kittel... Is this real? Planckaert is worth more than Greipel Ewan Kittel...
Draftpick 157 (EPO takes Nordhaug for 1$) Very smart choice too...
I'm happy with my team... Compared to last year there are less overpaid riders... Of course Dumoulin is still here but Modolo is gone Nordhaug and Pelucchi were heavy overpaided in first part of the last season... Now things are better... I hope Tom Dumoulin will give me 250 or 300 points in plus... If this becomes true and if Woods and Lars Boom reach their full potential Brajkovic remains only real weak point team and I hope I can be in the first half maybe even top 5 this season... For the end... I can't how EPO won't win this season too...

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 17:13, 2017
I should have drafted Rovny, so the fighter spirit to Brambilla had been even greater.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 11.Jan 16:56, 2017
About Gazprom - RusVelo: Katusha went Swiss this year, so a lot of the Russian riders transferred to Gazprom. And the Russians from Oleg's old team also went to Gazprom. As a result, they are now one of the absolute strongest pro continental teams, significantly better than last year. It would then be really strange if they don't get a wild card again this year. Porsev, Tsatevich, Firsanov, Foliforov, Lagutin, Maikin, Vorobyev, Trusov, Rovny, Brutt, Kozontchuk...

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Wednesday 11.Jan 14:25, 2017
About slow drafting vs. a draft night: Next time it will only be 5 drafts each and not 8 like now, so it will take a lot less time.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 11.Jan 12:18, 2017
I have put him on the same diet as Pozzovivo. Should guarantee great results this season.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Wednesday 11.Jan 11:39, 2017
Andy, Betancur has blocked me on Twitter after I posted the following dilemma to him:
Sterrato or gelato?

Could you please fine him?

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Wednesday 11.Jan 00:11, 2017
Also staking hope that pugface Visconti will generate more points when out of the shadow of Valverde.

Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Wednesday 11.Jan 00:09, 2017
Biggest regrets for me is not getting in early on (especially) Mamykin and Hansen who are both riders in the Partykjeppian mold. I also wanted Howard, but like LPN and the other AquaBlue guys I wasn't confident enough in their race program for him to by anything but a late pick. Surprised I got to keep Tsatevich as a lot of people were interesting in trading him.

Re:
Pozzovivo: Might have an amazing season, might be further decling. Bardet gets prime pick of races, guys like Latour, Geniez and Frank should overtake his leader role in some races. Plus Vuillermoz and Gautier can't possibly be as shit in the Ardennesish races like last year. Chose a budget to play with in the summer over signing him.

Machado: great rider in recent times, but Katusha mainly used him as a roleur last year in big races. Very frustrating both in general and Fantasywise.

Firsanov: I don't think Gazprom will get a Giro-wildcard. Might also mean fewer invitations to the races he did well in last year. Should probably still generate a great return although I think his points tally for the year will drop by 200ish points.

As for my own signings:
Boudat will hopefully improve further this year as track focus ceases (like Dillier should do for PartyFinn). Turgis great talent for hillier races, young and agressive like Partykjeppen like them. Albanese a no-brainer, been drooling on him since May(?) last year. Thwaites should get some chances both as a leader in the smaller spring classics.

I regret not giving Chaves a wage of 60-65, but I think he won't generate as many points as last year. Once he went it was Ulissi, Bonifazio and Trentin who were the most tempting prospects - but Ulissi would've wiped my budget completely.

Thanks and good luck to all - still suggest we try to do a condensed draft over a weekend next time and slowdraft what isn't done Sunday night.

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Tuesday 10.Jan 23:48, 2017
With Assassin and Steinvik starting out with big budgets I was sure Valverde would be doubled to $120. But somehow he survived and is still the most valuable rider in the game.

Pozzovivo at $13 is also waaay underpriced, but Andy surprisingly got away with that one. Logreid??? Pozzovivo will collect 900 points this season, most of them in the spring. Andy also got away with $14 for Daniel Moreno who I expect to score 750 points this year, but most of them in the second part of the season. But Andy did lose a lot of riders because of his low wage policy, among them Baptiste Planckaert who I could've gotten in a trade, but I didn't want to risk it because he was likely to get stolen at the wage I thought he would actually deserve in his new role at Katusha. The Majka for Greipel+Jeannesson trade with boris was smarter all things considered though I would've gotten two better riders from Andy.

Didn't think Assassin would get away with Henao $20 (ritlefant???) and Gilbert $18, but somehow he dodged the bullets there. Viviani $13 will also score much more points this season now that he has moved his focus away from the track. I was also curious about the low-waged Russians moving from Katusha to Gazprom Rusvelo, but I decided not to steal them because I wasn't confident that they would get points-friendly race programs.

Tomas [Second Coming] Tuesday 10.Jan 23:36, 2017
As long as I win mars/april I'm satisfied with my team. Only goal for the season. (Gonna make some leaderboards like the skisport365.com manager pages has now with the latest update there).

Thank you EPO! Im very happy with my team. I lost Cimolai and Trentin. It was hard to lose Trentin, but now I have some money in june, and hopefully I can do some good deals :) Good luck to all managers :)

Erythropoietin [Erythropoietin] Tuesday 10.Jan 22:28, 2017
1st draft: Leopold König - This guy has finished top 10 in every grand tour he has ridden as captain, and now he's back in Bora and will no longer be a Sky donkey.
2nd draft: Daniel Navarro - Scored a lot of points in the first part of the 2016 season until a crash ruined the remainder of it. Rode for Team EPO last year before I lost him because I could only increase the wages of four riders.
3rd draft: Michael Albasini - King of Romandie and Ardennes specialist. With Matthews out of the picture he will only have to fight with Gerrans for captainship.
4th draft: Tiago Machado - I fished this one out of the Partykjepp dumpster. Machado will be Katusha captain in the Tour Down Under and he will peak for his home race Volta ao Algarve which has been upgraded to 2.HC, so he will have scored a lot of points by February already.
5th draft: Sergej Firsanov - Another one deemed worthless by the Partycock. Last year he scored 500 points in the first part of the season and I hope he will try to copy that. I was strongly considering to steal him earlier, and by this time it was definitely the best draft available.
6th draft: Davide Cimolai - Not the best draft I could've made in and of itself, but it was done for tactical reasons to weaken Remi who I saw as the biggest opponent at this point. Logreid had lost Chaves and Andy wasn't going to get near 30 riders total, so the team with Valverde (!) and a handful of very strong Italians looked the strongest. Except my team of course.
7th draft: Amaury Capiot - I was planning to follow up by stealing Finetto from Remi even though he isn't worth $16. But when Logreid stole Trentin from him just ahead of my draft, I figured he had been weakened enough and thought it best to play nice and not piss him off too much with the budget he now had at his disposal. Capiot looked like the most value at the time. He's talented and the real deal, I think/hope.
8th draft: Lars Petter Nordhaug - The best free agent left. Like König, a Sky donkey turned captain for a smaller team. That should generate a decent amount of points.
